Thrift Store Apothecary Jars

I have always wanted these kind of jars but the price of the jars would always make me cringe.
I found some wonderful inspiration and ideas Here.
And I got to work making my apothecary jars.

I went to the Thrift Store to see if I could find something I could use and I found these little baby's. The jars with lids were 99 cents each and the glass candlestick's were 59 cents each. Woo Hoo! I like them kind of prices.

Before I started I washed the jars and candlesticks and removed any stickers.

Let dry completely.

Then I used Gorilla Glue to glue the pieces together. I applied a thin layer of glue around the rim of the candlestick and attached it to the bottom of the jar.

I just followed the directions on the glue. This was the first time I used Gorilla Glue.

It worked very well!

Let the glue dry completely.
That's it for the jars! Very easy,Very pretty decoration for any room of your house.

I purchased these little heart picks at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 a package.

I bought a couple packages.

Slowly pulled the hearts off the sticks.

I even saved the sticks for a future project.
Then I just add the hearts to the jar.

I added candy hearts to the other jar. My new jars are sitting pretty on top of my computer desk.

Thanks for stopping by my blog- so glad you liked the tutorial! I love this apothecary jar idea. I've been wanting some too, but can't find any I like for a reasonable price either. Maybe I'll give this a try!

Love these! I bought some of those hearts at the Dollar Store yesterday for a wreath, never thought about putting them in a jar. Brillant!
I included you on my Fri Favorites list!

These are great! Lids, too? You did good! I saw glass candlesticks at my Goodwill last weekend but they wanted more than the dollar store, so I passed on those.
